The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it won't name Island food outlets which scored the lowest hygiene ratings until next year.
A Freedom of Information request asked for premises which scored zero or one in the ratings as well as any action taken.
But in its response DEFA says the data, covering May to September, is exempt.
It says its departmental plan involves setting up an improved food hygiene scheme by the middle of next year and so it'll withhold the information until then.
