The Cabinet Office says a new order to be laid before Tynwald will tighten up rules on police background checks.
The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Order is due to be laid before the court when it sits in October.
It's to clear up the legislation around police checks, to make sure officers in the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and the UK can share the relevant information.
The new order will provide legal certainty for information-sharing between the Isle of Man and the UK's Disclosure and Barring Service.
