From today, residents in Onchan, Baldrine and Laxey will be able to travel by bus for free if they have a certain travel card.
Government announced last week Go Places cards loaded with 18 journeys will be available to people who live in those areas, applications for which opened last Friday (July 24).
The cards will be valid for journeys between 7.30am and 9am and then between 4.30pm and 6pm on weekdays.
The initiative has been started to lower congestion and the impact on the environment, as well as mitigate the effects of the northbound one-way system on Douglas Promenade.
Residents in those areas can claim their card from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal in Douglas as long as they can provide proof of ID and address.
