TV Licences will be free to everyone over 75 on Island from next year.
Government has confirmed it will meet the cost of TV licences for anyone over that age who doesn't receive income support.
The move follows the decision by the BBC that from January 1, 2021, it will fund licences only for pensioners in receipt of that benefit.
Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan MHK, says: "This is one less thing to worry about for older pensioners who we understand may have heightened concerns at the present time."
