Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer says the long-term closure of Foxdale's Main Road has taught his department valuable lessons.
In the House of Keys, he was quizzed by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson about the roadworks which began in October and are set to finish after the TT festival.
Mr Harmer said the work had been delayed by seven weeks after a new layout was planned for the Mines Road junction.
But he said he was confident the DOI has enough workers and resources to tackle major projects - including a major scheme on Douglas Promenade:
