Some flights are expected to be delayed or cancelled today following an emergency landing last night.
The Airport says last night’s mail plane had serious hydraulic issues after taking off and had to be turned around and landed as a ‘full emergency’ at around 8:30pm.
In the process of landing a large amount of hydraulic oil ended up on the runway and the decision was taken to cancel last night’s remaining flights.
The aircraft has now been safely removed and the runway has re-opened this morning.
However, Ronaldsway says some flights may still be affected due to airlines needing to plan ahead to avoid further delays.
