Almost £44,000 has been raised in the Islands first ever relay for life event.
33 teams walked for 24 hours non – stop around the NSC track to raise money for cancer research.
Hundreds of people, cancer survivors and supporters, turned up over the August Bank Holiday weekend for the event, which was ran in partnership with 3FM.
Committe Chair Gaynor Haxbey says that they doubled the amount they estimated would be raised. (audio above)
It’s now going to be an annual event.
