Peel crews attended a fire at a property this morning.
Around 8am crews were called to Peveril Road after smoke was seen coming from a building.
The cause of the smoke turned out to be burnt food on the hob, and the occupant had safely left the property before emergency services arrived.
Isle of Man Fire and Rescue urge people to check their smoke alarms are working, as they can play a vital role in saving lives.
