A painter and decorator from Onchan who caused a three vehicle crash last year has been fined £500.
27-year-old Christopher Ian England, of Buttermere Drive, lost control of his van on a series of bends on the St Marks Road on October 17th.
He hit a Ford Fiesta and a Seat Leon before coming to stop at the Braiid Roundabout at around 8.35am - the latter car was carrying a child.
At Douglas Courthouse last week England pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention - the court was told his demeanour after the crash was "vacant and scatty".
England's advocate told the court he'd lost control due to bad weather saying he wasn't paying "significant attention" to the road conditions following a storm.
Magistrates fined him £500 and ordered him to pay court costs of £125 - his licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
They told him "Obviously you're going to have to learn to drive to the weather conditions - I hope you will have learnt your lesson".
