A Douglas man has been fined after being found drunk on a petrol station forecourt.
55-year-old Stephen John Simpson, of Cushag Road, was unable to get to his feet unaided when police found him on April 2nd.
At Douglas Courthouse last week Simpson admitted being drunk in a public place and breaking the conditions of a licensing order.
Officers were called to EVF, on Peel Road, after Simpson was seen stumbling out of the shop - he had just purchased three litres of vodka.
Simpson's advocate told the court her client suffered from alcoholism and didn't recall being arrested.
She said he'd been working to adhere to the rules of a licensing ban imposed in August 2017 adding: "He's let himself down - this one incident has undone his good work."
Magistrates fined Simpson £300 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50 - a new six month licensing ban was also imposed.
