Esther Rantzen praises Island's government

TV star Esther Rantzen says the Isle of Man is the perfect place to trial a new helpline for elderly people.

As chair of The Silver Line she visited the Island on Monday to launch the project – a freephone service which is available 24 hours a day. 

It’s being piloted here, and in Manchester, before being rolled out across the UK next summer. 
  
The idea has received support from government and charities and it’s hoped callers can be signposted to support services available to them.
