Emergency repair work on Mountain Road

An inspection of the Mountain Road has led to serious concerns about the condition of part of the carriageway ahead of the Festival of Motorsport.

A section of the race circuit at the Graham Memorial has rippled along the racing line because of the recent hot weather.

There’s a fear that it could affect riders and their machines if it’s not fixed so emergency repairs will be carried out tomorrow.

The entire Mountain Road will close between Ramsey and the Creg ny Baa from 8am and reopen at 6am on Monday.
