An 89-year-old man was injured during a hit and run collision in Onchan yesterday.
Two cars were also damaged in the incident at Port Jack - the Mazda car involved was then abandoned on the promenade near Summerland, sparking a police search.
Two men - aged 22 and 30 - were arrested on Victoria Road in Douglas a short time later and have now been charged with offences in relation to the incident and are due to appear in court.
Authorities are thanking members of the public who helped at the scene.
The man injured is well and has been treated in hospital.
