A man who drove at 50mph through Douglas while more than three times the UK's legal drug limit has been fined £1,500 and banned from the roads for 18 months.
Thomas Edward Firth of Lhergy Cripperty in Union Mills admitted driving whilst unfit through drugs and two charges of possessing cannabis shortly after midnight on November 1.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard the 22 year old was genuinely remorseful and was about to take up a job as managing director of his parents' confectionery company.
Firth was also ordered to pay £125 costs.
