A man who was caught breaching a licensing ban, shoplifting and twice driving without a licence or insurance has been ordered to do community service.
23 year old Billy Sumner of Empire Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The hearing was told he was caught by police twice in a week driving an uninsured car without a driving licence last year.
And on December 29 staff in the Prospect pub recognised him as being banned from licenced premises as he bought a pint.
On May 7 he and another man went into Peacocks in the Strand Centre and stole three pairs of sunglasses.
Sumner was put on probation for a year, ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for a year and will have to pay £7.50 compensation to Peacocks.
