A drink-driving pensioner from Douglas will be sentenced next year after crashing into a stationary car and flipping his vehicle onto its roof.
68-year-old James Brian Arburthnott, of Willaston Crescent, lost control of the Ford C-Max on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Malvern Road at 7.30pm on December 16th after neighbours heard a loud bang and raised the alarm.
Arburthnott was helped from his vehicle and was being treated by paramedics when police arrived - they ordered him to carry out a roadside breath test which he failed.
At Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday he admitted drink driving, having two defective tyres and driving whilst disqualified.
The court heard he'd been disqualified in 2006 and hadn't retaken his driving test.
A Social Enquiry Report has been requested before Arburthnott is sentenced on January 29th - he's been bailed until that date.
