Douglas Regeneration Is Crucial Spending Says Douglas Councillor
Councillor David Christian has told 3FM that if the Government approve the spending then work could begin on the Douglas Town regeneration as soon as next Spring.
Councillor Christian has said the work will come at a major expense, but it's essential spending given the current state of the high street.
A recent consultation held at the Strand Shopping centre revealed that the public would like to see an overhaul of the street and the commercial properties, as well as seating introduced.
Councillor Christian's colleagues have been told that all other projects currently on the horizon should be put on the back burner until work commences on the regeneration.
