A man’s been sent to prison after being convicted of two knife-related crimes in five months.
Dillon Frazer Cowie of Marathon Drive in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 28-year-old changed his initial not guilty plea and admitted using threatening behaviour on New Road in Laxey on June 5, and prosecutor James Robinson offered no evidence on one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
The court heard Cowie had argued with a dog walker in Peel after seeing the man chastise his dog – around three hours later he bumped into the same man in the Co-op store in Laxey and began a verbal altercation.
In the car park behind the shop, Cowie produced a knife and brandished it before getting into his girlfriend’s car and leaving the scene.
After hearing he was serving a suspended jail term for a knife incident in May, magistrates jailed him for six months of that sentence as well as another four months for his latest offence.
