A 62-year-old man from Manchester has died after becoming ill whilst diving in the south of the Island.
Just after 4pm yesterday (Friday) emergency services, including an RAF Sea King helicopter and the lifeboat, attended Port St Mary Harbour.
Police say Eric Waburton, who was from Whitefield, became ill after surfacing near to the Sugarloaf Rocks.
He was given first aid by his fellow divers and by paramedics at the scene but was pronounced dead.
His next of kin have been informed as has the Coroner of Inquests – police say they are continuing to conduct enquiries into his death.
