The Department of Health and Social Care says it's working with officials of an Island care home which is under threat from closure.
The Corrin Memorial Home in Peel, which houses 21 residents, is planning to shut its doors in July after the Board of Directors stated they can't find a way to make the home viable in the long-term.
The decision has sparked concern amongst residents and politicians - a petition to save it has gathered nearly 600 signatures.
In a statement, Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, says: "The proposed closure of the Corrin Memorial Home has understandably caused a feeling of unrest with residents and staff, and in the wider community in Peel and the west of the Island.
"It’s important that residents and staff feel supported at this time and so the Department of Health and Social Care is working closely with the trustees and directors to look at all available options.
"A further statement will be issued in due course."
