The Department of Health and Social Care says problems in the UK means it can't offer a clear and accessible gender identity pathway.
On Facebook, the DHSC says repeated changes in the UK over the past two years means it's been unable to finalise a contract to provide services through the NHS there.
It says an English review of Gender Identity Clinics should be finished by March next year.
And the department says it remains committed to improving Gender Care services and the health and wellbeing of the Island's gender diverse community.
