The Department for Enterprise says it doesn't fish discarded plastic out of Douglas Bay after the TT fireworks display - because it doesn't use plastic.
A Freedom of Information request to the department asked about pollution from the capital's traditional fireworks display that marks the end of the festival.
The DfE says none of the fireworks contain plastic - instead they're made of paper, cardboard, cotton and clay.
This year's display will take place on June 8 starting at 11pm.
