The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is considering a policy to protect feral wallabies.
Minister Clare Barber was asked about the protection of the animals by John Wannenburgh in the House of Keys.
It comes following someone shooting a Wallaby in the head earlier this month - the animal had to be put down due to the extent of its injuries.
As there is no current policy on the matter, no legislation has been made or amended to include them.
Mrs Barber says before anything is done, public opinion should be considered:
Cruise ship with 1000 visitors arrives this morning
Government could cash in £852.6m assets within 10 days
Rapists's appeal against sentence thrown out
