Cav Hopes to Get Campaign Back on Track Today
It was dissapointment for Mark Cavendish in the first stage of the Tour De France.
The Manxman’s bid to secure the Green Jersey took a real blow when he failed to negotiate a tricky bend in the closing stages.
It was an event fraught with crashes, Cav’s meant he limped home way behind the main pack severly denting his campaign.
It was veteran Italian Alessandro Petacchi who took the victory.
The riders are today headed for Spa, at just over 200km it’s another long track and one which favours the sprinters, so Cav may be able to get himself back in the game.
