Safety measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 have been put in place in all schools and at UCM.
That is the pledge from the Manx government as children begin their new school term today (Wednesday).
The education department has been working with Public Health to keep children and staff as safe as possible.
School buildings have been risk assessed and have increased ventilation and extra hand hygiene precautions in place.
Social distancing is not required but students and staff are being encouraged to wear face coverings in school buildings and on buses.
Major exams such as GCSEs, A-levels and vocational qualifications are expected to return next year, although the situation remains under review.
Graham Kinrade from the education department said: "It is hoped these measures will help keep our island’s schools and college open for face-to-face education.
"While the risk of COVID-19 cannot be dismissed, our aim is to help students, staff and parents return to school confidently and happily with a sense of wellbeing and excitement, not anxiety".
