A Peel man who denies punching his partner in the face during an argument at their home will appear in court again later this month.
45 year old Charles Anthony Watson of Market Street pleaded not guilty to common assault when he appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecution advocate Roger Kane told the court Mr Watson got into a row with his girlfriend on Saturday, March 16 as she tried to move out of their house.
He’s said to have pushed her onto the bed and punched her in the head, before grabbing a kitchen knife and holding it an inch from her chest.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes adjourned the case until a pre-trial review hearing is held on May 14.
She bailed Mr Watson in the sum of £500 on condition he lives at his home address, doesn’t contact witnesses in the case and doesn’t leave the Island without permission from the court.
