Contractors pulled from Douglas Harbour dredging job

It\'s unclear how much the government contract is worth, or who will now do the dredging.

The dredging of Douglas inner harbour has been put back until the winter after contractors were pulled from the job.

Dredging removes build-up of silt washed into the harbour from the rivers during bad weather, but the job is now on hold.

It was due to be complete by early spring.

Director of harbours Mike Brew has confirmed the Irish contractors were told there would be no more work after the outer harbour was cleared.

It's unclear how much the government contract is worth, or who will now do the dredging.

Captain Brew says there were several concerns about the way the work was being carried out.
