Police Officers Tackle Ashley Hill School Vandal Problem
Police Officers in the Onchan area are taking a pro-active approach in reducing acts of vandalism at Ashley Hill School.
There have been an increasing number of cases where vandals have caused damage to the School grounds, predominantly in the early evenings and weekends.
The new scheme will see Community Volunteers deployed to the school grounds at these times in an effort to deter the vandals.
The main concentration of the damage has been done to the outdoor play area, which has caused great upset to the children aged between 3 and 5 who use it on a daily basis.
A spokesperson from the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team has asked anybody using the facilities to do so responsibly.
It’s hoped with the four volunteers helping out the acts of vandalism will drop significantly.
