Chief Minister Seeks major Expenditure to Replace Natural Gas Facilities
The Chief Minister will be using the July sitting of Tynwald to seek approval for two major matters of national importance.
First and foremost members will be asked to approve the expenditure of £23.5 million to fund a scheme to extend the Isle of Man’s natural gas network.
The money would primarily be spent on replacing the Island’s out of date lpg/air town gas facilities.
He’ll also be asking his members to approve the move to include the Isle of Man inside the UK’s e-border.
The latter is geared toward safeguarding the freedom of movement for Island and UK residents when travelling between the two – ultimately it would mean people wouldn’t need to produce a passport when travelling to the UK.
