Chief Minister Howard Quayle says people who wanted to apply for a job as the Island's Judge of Appeal had plenty of time to do so.
In Tynwald today he faced questions from East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw who claimed the advert had run for just 13 days.
He said that wasn't enough time for off-island candidates to apply - effectively ruling out all but Manx workers.
Mr Quayle, however, said he was happy with the way the recruitment had been run:
