Candidate who missed Keys seat elected unopposed for commissioners

Just hours after nominations closed, the Island has a new commissioner.

In Braddan, Alf Caine was the only candidate to stand, guaranteeing him a seat when today's lunchtime deadline passed - he stood unsuccessfully for Middle in September's general election.

Meanwhile, Port St Mary will go to the polls on Thursday, December 3, after five candidates came forward for two seats.

Sarah Comish, Julie Gibney, Michelle Haywood, Ann Murray and Daxaben Patel will battle it out for a place on the local authority.
