Around 200m of copper overhead cable has been stolen from the Manx Electric Railway crossing near Baldrine.
Power lines were taken down yesterday after being struck by a vehicle and were left overnight.
Police say the cable is believed to have been stolen from between the Liverpool Arms and Baldrine between 5:30pm yesterday and 8:30am this morning.
As a result, the MER will be unable to operate normal services and a special event has had to be cancelled.
If anyone knows where the cable is or something that would help the police, you're asked to call 631212 or email police@gov.im
