Police on the Island are urging people to seek advice if they are conducting work that could disturb nesting birds.
This week the force says they had reason to speak to a tradesmen who disturbed a nest whilst repairing a roof and was injured by the birds.
They are reminding the public that it is an offence under the Wildlife Act disturb nesting birds.
They add that anyone's work that might disturb a potential nest should seek advice from the Environment, Food and Agriculture Department before commencing.
