Bay Festival organisers can't meet refund deadline

Jonathan Irving, the organiser of the event, has released a statement to media to say that they hope to be in a position to announce details to ticket holders very soon.

Today is the deadline for Isle of Man Bay Festival ticket holders to be refunded.

People who had purchased tickets faced disappointment when the 3 day music event was cancelled.

They were told to send proof of purchase to the Bay festival in order to get their money back on or before today, July 29th.

Jonathan Irving, the organiser of the event, has released a statement to media to say that they hope to be in a position to announce details to ticket holders very soon.

'As stated at the time of cancellation and will be appreciated, all festivals need to be prepaid and the IOM Bay Festival was no exception. Therefore as asset disposals have proved difficult in the current economic climate we have been working hard with all the ticket outlets to finalise the refund arrangements. We hope to be able to announce details to ticket holders very soon. We understand and obviously accept that some ticket purchasers have not waited and already received refunds from their card providers. However in the meantime we would like to thank everyone who supported the festival and also for their continuing understanding, it is greatly appreciated.'

When the event was called off back in May, 3FM put the question to Jonathon Irving about refunds, and he said then that full refunds would be given. (audio above)

3FM have been inundated with disappointed ticket holders who have not heard anything regarding getting money back yet. Some have told us they have got a refund from their card providers.
