A man who didn't realise he had to pass an extended driving test after being banned has been given eight points on his licence.
Darren James Foster of Peveril Street in Douglas admitted driving while disqualified, with no tax or insurance, and failing to change the ownership of his car.
The court heard he'd been banned in 2009 but hadn't taken the test when he was caught by police in Avondale Road in Onchan driving a Citroen Dispatch van on October 30 last year.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered him to do 120 hours of community service and pay £50 costs.
