A Tynwald poverty committee says the Isle of Man should outlaw no-fault evictions.
Landlords can currently serve eviction notices for no reason, but a select committee examining the issue says the practice should be banned.
In a report due to be considered by Tynwald in June, the committee says the Department of infrastructure should introduce new laws to prevent no-fault evictions.
Last year, the UK saw a 39 per cent jump in the number of people evicted for no reason.
