Local authorities need to ask serious questions about whether they are getting value for money from their chief officers.
That’s according to Onchan MHK Peter Karran who this week asked for figures revealing how much chief executives in each district were being paid.
The figures for Douglas showed the salary for a 37 hour week to be £100,000 plus, between £80,000 and £100,000 in Ramsey and between £60,000 and £80,000 in Onchan, Peel and Port Erin.
