A minute’s applause will take place at all football matches on the Island today in memory of a Manx athlete who died earlier this week.
25-year-old Gareth Cowin was representing the Isle of Man at the Special Olympic Winter Games in South Korea when he contracted a deadly virus.
He was admitted to hospital in Seoul last weekend but died on Wednesday due to septic shock and multi-organ failure.
The Manx delegation has decided to continue at the games.
