Animal charity in cats-on-road warning

The MSPCA is urging drivers to watch out for cats on the road as the days get shorter.

The charity says they had three calls last week about black cats being killed overnight by cars.

A spokesman is reminding motorists that this problem is particularly prevalent on the island as many roads don't have speed limits.

According to statistics, only 25% of cats hit by cars are killed immediately and the MSPCA said injured animals should be taken to the vet as soon as possible.
