The number of dead geese found at the Point of Ayre now stands at 181.
Local charity Manx BirdLife had found over 130 dead or distressed birds at the site last weekend, with at least one having died of bird flu.
An update from Site Manager David Andrews confirms the number has since risen.
He adds that 'clearly things are getting worse before they get better,' and reminds the public not to touch dead or dying birds.
There are currently no restrictions in place on Island related to avian influenza.
David Andrews, Site Manager updates, “With a cursory scan, I got up to 181 dead & moribund geese including two pink-footed.”

Clearly things are getting worse before they get better. As bad as it is for the birds, the key advice is not to pick up or touch dead or dying birds. https://t.co/KXxuQtT7nZ pic.twitter.com/M1KrwboYsW
