The Information Commissioner says the Attorney General's Chambers must reconsider its response to a Freedom of Information request after wrongly applying a blanket ban on the answer.
The request asked for details about a government contract with Sea Pegasus Drafting Services - but the FOI was refused on the grounds the information was confidential.
However, whoever asked the question referred the matter to the ICO, which has now released its decision.
It says contracts involving public authorities aren't "information provided in confidence", and says the Attorney General's Chambers must now provide a new response.
