The survey is made up of 39 interview questions asked to 1,050 people on the Island selected at random.

The latest published findings of the Manx People Power survey have established that the public would like to see Alan Bell as the next Chief Minister.

The survey is made up of 39 interview questions asked to 1,050 people on the Island selected at random.

It’s said to be the first survey of its type ever commissioned on the Island and is designed to give the Manx people a voice on the political process.

The interviewees were given a list of 8 possible candidates for the job, Bell clinched top spot with 15%, closely followed by current Speaker of the House Steve Rodan Treasury Minister Anne Craine came in third.

It was also revealed that an overwhelming majority would like to see future chief ministers elected following public vote.

Although no changes will be introduced by this election, the man behind the survey, Hugh Davidson, is hopeful the MHK’s will take the findings into account when they elect the new Chief Minister in October.
