A man who made a hoax call to 999 while outside Police Headquarters will be sentenced next month.
Richard Alan Kewley of Tynwald Road in Willaston appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
He admitted making a false fire alarm call, sending a menacing message and making a nuisance call in the early hours of February 5.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon said the 58 year old had first reported a hoax fire before calling a building contractor and threatening to slit his throat.
He then dialled 999 again and said "Get off the tracks, a train is coming" before police arrested him.
Mrs Hughes said the first call meant a fire crew and police officers had been sent on a wild goose chase and she regarded that as a particularly serious offence.
Kewley, who represented himself, was bailed in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t buy alcohol or consume it in public.
He’ll appear for sentencing on March 26.
