A court has heard it's not known how long a woman from Port Erin lay dead before her body was discovered.
90 year old Kathleen Margaret Howard was found slumped over her kitchen table earlier this month.
An inquest into her death opened at Douglas Courthouse this week.
Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed while investigations continue.
