A 40mph zone is being brought in on a busy highway in the West of the Island.
The Department of Infrastructure says it will be put in place on the currently destricted section of the Poortown Road in German on the approach to the 30mph zone at the entrance to Peel.
Highway Services says the aim of it is to slow down vehicles as they head into the housing area on the outskirts of the town and the decision has been taken following recent traffic monitoring.
A temporary 50mph restriction will be in force between Ballig and Peel on the stretch from next Monday (March 1) whilst signs for the new zone are installed and road surface repairs are carried out.
It's expected the permanent speed limit zone will be completed at the start of these carriageway repair works.
