Douglas council had 40 empty properties at the end of March, according to its latest figures.
The Housing and Property Committee was given the figure, which is included in minutes due to be considered by the local authority at its Annual General Meeting next Friday.
At the end of February, there were 42 vacant properties receiving attention.
Of the 40 vacant properties at the end of March, six were described as being ready for allocation in the near future.
