Chief Minister Alf Cannan says it's unlikely anyone will be prosecuted for having an unregistered doorbell.
This week in the House of Keys the issue of video doorbells was raised in a question from North Douglas MHK David Ashford.
He wanted to know if people were still going to have to pay to register their bells under the Island's data protection laws after a warning last year.
Mr Cannan said the Island's new data commissioner is reviewing the issue, but people shouldn't worry too much in the meantime:
