The Island's Information Commissioner says you will have to register for data protection for your CCTV doorbell, but it should be free.
The ICO has issued an update after a consultation into data protection registration fees.
The document says if your home's CCTV coverage crosses the boundary of your property, you should still have to register.
But it also says individuals should be exempt from paying fees - the report will be considered by Treasury which will now consider making changes by April 2027.
