A second world war hand grenade was discovered in Laxey over the weekend.
Police were called by a person who noticed a suspicious object on their land.
A full risk assessment was carried out and advice was taken from a military ordnance officer before the grenade was recovered by police.
It was unearthed during ground works.
More details of it's origins are, at this moment in time, unknown.
The grenade has now been secured pending destruction.
