Works at the Millennium Oakwood car park are set to start from June 13 and last around 14 weeks.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says this will include an extension to the car park and improvements to the pathway in the wood itself.
Parking will be unavailable for the first two weeks and then reduced parking spaces will be available until the work is complete.
People are also asked to pay attention to signage as there will also be temporary closures to paths.
